Copper Rod for Wire Drawing

Oxygen-free copper rod is the primary feedstock for the wire and cable industry. Mivo produces rod profile using upward continuous casting technology — the graphite crystallizer die is submerged in the melt, and solid rod is withdrawn upward in a protected atmosphere, eliminating oxygen pickup during solidification.

The quality of the rod — specifically its surface condition, internal cleanliness, and grain structure — determines the drawing performance and the final wire quality. The equiaxed grain structure produced by Mivo's patented crystallizer design supports consistent mechanical properties across the full cast length.
